Contemporary Whole House Remodelling and Extensions in Prestbury, Macclesfield (Cheshire East) located within Conservation Area.
CURRENTLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION
The existing dwelling, was created in the 1960’s, before the designation of the area as a Conservation Area, and the dwelling did not reflect the overriding character of the area or Conservation Area. The dwelling had little work or maintenance since it was constructed and required a full programme of modernisation. As part of these works, remodelling and extensions to the dwelling were sought. The proposals sought to enhance the building whilst maintaining the character and appearance of the Conservation Area
We developed our proposals taking reference from all of the surrounding properties including the two storey aspects, gable fronts and materials etc.
The proposals sought to create a modern family dwelling, adding an additional bedroom to the first floor and providing additional bathroom facilities. To the ground floor, more substantial remodelling was proposed to create a family room to the rear of the property, providing better views and links to the substantial rear gardens. Reconfigured servicing (utility room and WC) and entrance was proposed to make the dwelling function more efficiently. The front of the dwelling an extended formal living room was proposed. The existing garage was to be replaced and the proposed garage is widened to allow a car to be parked within. Due to the roof pitch of the garage, the roof space is efficiently used to create additional living space.
