REPLACEMENT DWELLING WITH INCREASED FLOOR SPACE AND ECO CREDENTIALS
Contemporary and sustainable reworking of a traditional Welsh cottage to create large modern family home whilst retaining existing character.
Located in Open Countryside the planning permission secured additional accommodation over the size allowable under Flintshire County Council's policies.
Our clients wanted to create a comfy, warm, light and open house utilising the substantial plot and views on all sides.
The resulting house has no internal doors to the ground floor living spaces but utilises free standing furniture and walls to zone the various parts of the house.
At either end of the house a small double height space creates a focal point connects the first floor and ground floor circulation spaces.
Whilst of more traditional appearance our clients were keen to make the house sustainable and the use of solar panels, air source heat pumps, combined water storage and wood burning stoves achieve this discretely and seamlessly.
